In preparation for Valentine's Day on Tuesday...
Danielle and I saw “The Vow” today.
I definitely sobbed.
Oh, and there was a shot of Channing Tatum in which he’s laying in bed holding a cat during one of the sadder parts of the film, which prompted me to create the following hashtag:

Sometimes I Envy the World.
I envy all the girls with their perfect bodies, perfect hair, flawless skin. The girls who manage to do everything right, who manage to make even the most tedious and pointless of actions look epic.
I envy all the girls who get the best guys that treat them like queens. That treat them as beautiful creations of God, because they are.
I envy all the musicians that get to play on famous stages...

Yesterday was such a blessing.
I got to spend some time with Cade Spinello and his mom and sister. Cade was diagnosed with a brain tumor about a year ago then suffered a stroke that essentially paralyzed the right side of his body. (For more info and to see his progress, visit http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/cader)

Days of Resting
God calls us to work six days then reserve the seventh as a day of rest. In Exodus 31, he says that any who ignore this ought to be put to death for disobeying him.
To think that we are COMMANDED to slow down and devote a day from each week to just resting and loving God is incredible, but the fact that we hardly ever do is even more so.
This is a commandment I need to focus on.

I don’t want to be a great writer like C.S. Lewis, or Paul McCartney or John Lennon, or J.K. Rowling, or Suzanne Collins, or anyone else I deeply admire for their writing. No, I want to be like David, who wrote most of the Psalms in the Bible. There is just something so incredibly poetic, vulnerable, and beautiful about the Psalms, and I want my writing to up to par with David’s.
